Beauty Radar: The Germany Collection

January 28, 2013

"Don't Pretzel My Buttons" says one of OPI's new nail polish colors from their most recent collection, The Germany Collection. With their witty and original names, these colors are sure to keep your nails looking great this Spring season. As always, OPI colors are long-lasting and don't take 4 coats to achieve the bottle color. I've fallen so in love with this collection mostly because of it's range of possibility. These colors all look great together. My favorite pairs are the "Berlin There Done That" (pictured above) and the "My Very First Knockwurst". "Danke-Shiny Redt" is perfect for a night out on the town with a more glamorous look while "Schnapps Out of It!" is more subtle, but still playful. This collection will take you to Germany when your wallet simply can't!

What's your favorite shade in the new OPI Germany Collection?

A New Beginning

January 22, 2013

Hey, everyone! I'm finally all moved into FIT and I have to say that I'm completely falling in love with this place. I have the most adorable little dorm with the great view out the window. It's so comfy and cozy here! It's honestly already starting to feel like home. Tomorrow is orientation, and I also have an interview with an amazing website called! Hopefully, everything goes great and I'll have an awesome new internship to tell you all about. Keep an eye out for some really great new street style photos from the city that never sleeps!

get the look: creamsicle

January 18, 2013

orange | white
{ sweater | pants | flats | clutch | lipgloss | necklace | ring }

Three amazing things about this outfit:

1: Perfect for the Winter to Spring transition season because of the bright orange, but still will keep you warm and stylish. I switched out the black & white heels for some adorable studded white flats because the clutch looked so great with the shoes. The necklace matches the edgy-look we have going on here!
2: All the items are under $50! You can get this look even if you're on a budget!
3: This entire outfit can be purchased for a whopping $203! Put together they make a perfect outfit, but these pieces are also awesome staple pieces that you can pair with things you already have in your closet!

the highs & lows of denim

January 3, 2013

denim & chiffon

{ necklace . shirt . belt . skirt . shoes . large ring . small ring (vintage)}

Ever since the high-low trend came out in 2012, I've been completely and utterly in love with it. Just because it's a new season and a new year, doesn't mean I'm letting it get away from me! I found this skirt at American Eagle and thought it was just perfect. I've already worn it on several occasions such as Christmas parties or family dinners, mostly because it's the perfect skirt. It's high in the front for a girly & flirty look, but lower in the back for a more conservative look. It's become such a staple piece in my wardrobe as it can be paired with just about any top and still looks fabulous. It's on clearance for only $30 at AE right now, so it's the perfect time to snag it! Most of the items shown in my outfit are things I grabbed out of my closet, so the links may not go to the exact product, but instead something similar, or the page that I originally purchased it from.

your perfect winter jacket

At the year begins, the weather seems to be getting colder and colder. Snow starts to fall and the temperature starts to drop, and this is the perfect time for you to bundle up with a new winter coat to keep you feeling warm, happy, and of course, stylish all at the same time. There seems to be so many new coat trends popping up this winter season, and I thought it would be the perfect time to share some of my favorites with you! P.S. All the jackets shown are all UNDER $100!

First, we have the sequined-sleeve jacket trend. I love this look because of it's so girly and tomboy-ish all wrapped in one. The army green brings out the tomboy in you, but the sequins still let people know that you like to keep things bright and shiny. Next, is the tribal/patterned jacket trend. As you probably all know by now, I'm obsessed with anything and everything tribal. So basically, this jacket is right on point with trends I've fallen in love with. Third, is the leather-sleeved jacket. This trend first caught my eye on American Eagle's new floor set, but it didn't have any pockets which is such a necessity for me. But, on the bright side, you can find plenty of these jackets online.  PacSun carries a really adorable one like this too! Next up is the pale/pastel colored coats. Everything pastel just catches my eye as being so innocent and girly (which I love), so this jacket is just perfect is you're that type of girl! Pastel-colored coats always remind me of vintage Chanel, so they'll feel super classy and chic. Fifth, camouflage! Again, the camo trend caught my eye at American Eagle! They do still carry almost the same jacket as this TopShop one shown, and yes, it's about $20 cheaper! Love this look so much with maybe some studded boots for a more edgy look. Sixth we have the always classic, leather jacket. Leather jackets have been in style since forever as far as I know, and frankly, you should invest in a good one since you'll be able to wear it year after year and stay on trend. Leather jackets are perfect for a more edgy-look, but still can be worn with girly florals for a more innocent and feminine look. Last, but not least, another classic, the fur jacket. Although the jacket shown is not completely fur, I still do love that completely fur look for a more vintage & classy look. This jacket shown could be a perfect staple piece for your wardrobe since it can be worn with almost anything and has the touch of fur to keep you completely warm!

new years neons

new year neons
Welcome to the first post of 2013! Can't believe it's finally a new year. Time for fresh starts and new beginnings! I hope that everyone took my advice and brought in 2013 with a bang last night! I spent my New Years with a classy few at a little get together with my best friends. Since it wasn't a fancy party, I decided on a simple Lauren Conrad top from Kohl's with plain black jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters (my go-to jean destination). To add a little sparkle for the celebration, I added a diamond & neon ELLE Bijoux necklace (also from Kohl's) and some sparkly INC black flats that my best friend Michelle got me for Christmas from Macy's. I loved this outfit because it was so simple, yet dressed up and flashy all at the same time. What did you wear for New Year's Eve?

The new year also calls for a New Years Resolution. I haven't thought too much about it until now, I guess. But, if I had to make one it would be to just be happy. I know it's simple, and probably a bit cliche, but it's true. In 2013, there are so many things that could make me unhappy: school, being away from home, making new friends, a long distance relationship. But, I have to try my best to remain happy, humble, and aware of how blessed I really am. What's your New Years resolution?

{ note: the blouse & necklace are not available online, but can be purchased at your local kohl's }
