Outfit Guide: Fall 2012

October 15, 2012

Today, I wanted to feature three of my favorite outfit ideas for the fall/winter transition season. It's starting to get chilly out, and layering seems to be the perfect solution!

Outfit 1: Pretty Pinks
This outfit is perfect for the transition into the colder weather because of all it's layering. On the top, we have a long sleeve blouse with a Madewell denim jacket layered on top for warmth. Throw on the gray infinity scarf, with the white crocheted hat and your head will be warmer than ever. Then, on the bottom, we have a chic pair of light pink jeans for a little pop of color with matching accessories. The studded boots top this outfit off, in my opinion, adding a bit of a rocker edge and warm feet all at the same time!

Outfit 2: Green Brown Autumn
I feel as if outfit #2 is more of a going out look. It's perfect for a dinner date with friends or a night out on the town with your man candy. On the top, we have a gorgeous, gold SEQUIN (we love sequins!) long-sleeved blouse that's just perfect with the green army vest on top. The vest dresses the outfit down a little, so it's not too, too dressy. A perfect pair of dark jeans, a gorgeous maroon infinity scarf, and some brown riding boots finish this look off with the perfect touch of fall. A matching gold & maroon ring, and a brown watch add some more bling to your outfit making it ultra chic and classy.

Outfit 3: Bronze Beauty
Perfect for a day of shopping in the city or walking from class to class on campus, Bronze Beauty is perfect for the busy woman. It's very easy to just go ahead and throw on this denim top (if it's cold, throw it on with a long sleeve shirt under it) and these perfect mustard-colored floral jeans. To add a touch of autumn, we paired them with an amazing brown saddle bag and brown combat boots. Add on a few gold/brown accessories and you're ready to go!

Adventures in the Big Apple

October 2, 2012

Blazer: LC Lauren Conrad | Jeans: American Eagle | Tank: American Eagle

So, this past weekend I spent my weekend with ma mere and her amazing friends. We go on TONS of road trips throughout the year together to see our favorite band, Los Lonely Boys, and this fall it took us to the city that never sleeps.. and we literally hardly slept. Thursday night, we started off on the insane roads of New Jersey, but finally ended up at this beautiful theatre in South Orange. The opening act was an artist I had never heard of at the time, Thom Chacon (you'll read more about him at the end).

The next morning we ventured off into the big city, and spent Friday & Saturday night there also seeing Los Lonely Boys & Thom Chacon at the City Winery in Soho. Such a gorgeous, classy little venue. During the days in the city, we got tons of shopping done in Soho, of course, and also took a long walk around Greenwich Village and Washington Square Park (where we saw amazing street performers). Ultimately, I spent the weekend figuring out what my life will look like starting in January when I move to the city (I cannot wait!).

Artist of the Moment: Thom Chacon
Going to see Los Lonely Boys, you never know who you're going to get for an opening act. I was very, very intrigued and excited when I saw that Thom Chacon was the opening act. Although, I hadn't ever heard of him before, I'm glad I found his music. He has an indie, sort of Dashboard-Confessional sound, and it was such a breath of fresh air to find out that he would open all three shows I was attending. My favorite songs was "Crazy Pills" (which you can hear below. It's not his music video, but it's the only one I could find on YouTube). Overall, you WILL NOT be disappointed listening to Thom's album. Make sure you check him out on Facebook or on his website here!
