outfit: forever classic

July 31, 2012

Tank: Marshalls | Pants: Forever 21 | Shoes: Charlotte Russe | Bracelets/Watch: thrifted & Forever 21 | Necklace: Charlotte Russe | Belt: Forever 21

It's only 11:20 AM & I've already started off the day great. Well, I woke up early today & went to Pilates at my local gym with my bestie. Now this was our first time doing Pilates and I'm used to calming yoga, you know, little stretch here and there. I went into Pilates thinking it would be the same.. But boy, was I wrong. Pilates gets intense! I broke a sweat even. But in the end, I'm feeling wide awake and ready for the day.

Last night, I finished Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James. There's just so much to say about this book. Anyone who's read it knows what I'm talking about. It's so intense and just passionate. I teared up at the end (embarrassed face). I just started the second book in the trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker, and so far it's just as amazing as the first. If you haven't picked up this book yet, I highly recommend that you do.

Today's outfit was sort of a classy-work outfit. I'd hate to work at a job where I had to wear suits everyday, but if I did, this is how I'd dress it up! The pants are from Forever 21 & they are so incredibly comfortable and stretchy! I thought everyone would be proud that I went all out and did my hair today and everything :)

outfit: preppy in lace

July 30, 2012

Top: Aerie similar | Shorts: JcPenney | Belt: thrifted | Shoes: Rue 21 | Braclets: (top-bottom) Express, thrifted, American Eagle, Fine Featherheads | Hair Extension: Fine Featherheads

I thought today I would go for more of a preppy look. I am so incredibly in love with these shorts you have no idea. The best part is that they were only $20, and they're Nicole Miller! Gotta love JcPenney. I got this shirt so, so long ago at Aerie and it's super comfortable.

Again, I featured the feather hair extensions that clip right in from Fine Featherheads (whom I love dearly!). Also, for anyone who is attending college now, make sure that you apply to be a Fine Featherheads Campus Tribe Representative. It will provide you with the opportunity to advertise for FF by sending you some awesome merch to show off to your fellow students!

outfit: too teal

July 29, 2012

Blouse: Francesca's Collection (similar) | Skirt: Forever 21 (similar) | Necklace: Charlotte Russe | Wallet/Clutch: Fossil | Ring: Charlotte Russe | Bracelet: Zable | Feather: Fine Featherheads

Hey, all! Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday afternoon! I actually took these photos a couple weeks ago & completely forgot to post them (forgetful me :]) I wanted to show you this adorable outfit first of all, but most importantly I wanted to feature the perfect feather clip that I received from Fine Featherheads. I remember back last year when everyone had these feathers, but they only had the kind that stayed in through washes and lasted usually a month - two months.

Those were awesome and all, but now Fine Feaherheads has come out with this awesome invention called the "Quill Clip"! You just clip it in your hair whenever you feel like wearing your feathers and they're there until you take them out! It's easier so you don't have to worry about being to rough when drying your hair or things along those lines. I'm so in love with it & it comes in tons and tons of colors! You can check out the selection here

Your Summer to Fall Staples

July 28, 2012

Summer to Fall Inspiration

As the fall season approaches, I always find it hard to go from wearing shorts, tank tops, and spaghetti-strap dresses to wearing jeans, boots, and chunky sweaters. I'm sure I'm not the only one! I love everything about summer attire: the ease of just throwing it on & not caring about your hair or makeup, your sun-kissed skin, and just being natural. Maybe that's the boho side of me talking, but I've always been one to love a chunky sweater.

To help out everyone, I've created the ultimate list of summer to fall staple pieces to keep you warm when the weather starts to cool while looking adorable and natural like you did all summer long.

One | Bright Capri's {J.Crew $128} | Bright capri's may be the piece that I'm most excited to start adding into my wardrobe right now. I actually just purchased a pair at Forever 21 (outfit post to follow soon!) and I'm excited for the weather to cool off so I can throw them on with a white tee-shirt and a chunky necklace.

Two | Chiffon Long-Sleeved Blouse {Oasis $23} | Chiffon blouses are super incredible when it comes to keeping you at the perfect temperature throughout the summer-fall season. For the rest of the summer, pair it with a bandeau under it to show a little skin maybe with natural hair, or for fall, pair it with a long sleeve white shirt, a beautiful necklace, and a top-knot.

Three | Fedoras {Little Burgundy Shoes $14} | I just have such a vision of messy hair & fedoras in the city and it reminds me of the fall. Maybe a 3/4 sleeve b&w striped shirt with capris and a fedora. Leave your hair natural and messy for the perfect city in the summer/fall look.

Four | Shorts w/tights {Chicwish $45} | It's hard to go from wearing shorts almost everyday in the summer to jeans and long pants! So that your shorts don't have to hibernate in your drawer until next summer, throw them on with some tights and heels for a super high-fashion & chic look.

Five | Booties {All Saints $250} | When it starts to get too cold for flip-flops and open toed heels, chic booties are the perfect choice. Keeping your feet warm while keeping you looking amazing, these heels are a must for the summer to fall season.

Outfit: Tasteful Tribal

July 27, 2012

Dress: Forever 21 | Belt: Thrifted | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Bracelets: vintage, Zable

Hello! I just thought I would start off by saying that this aztec/tribal hi-lo dress is my all time favorite dress that I have ever owned ever in the world. I got it at Forever 21 for literally $17.80. It's just so perfect because of it's versatility. I mean wear it with a belt, without, dress it up with a blazer, use jewelry for bright pops of color, anything. And it follows my obsession with hi-lo anything.

July 26, 2012

I've been eyeing this tote since back in April when I was in London at the Cath Kidston store for the first time, and I've finally gotten it! I was lucky enough to get it at an amazing discount thanks to the lovely ladies at CK! The bag was originally $75, but you can get it now for only $38. If this print doesn't do you any justice, there's a few more here

I have to say that even the packaging for this bag was just adorable! I don't want to throw it away because it's simply too adorable! It's pictured above! Another part that I loved about the bag was that the inside was so surprising because it's blue polka dots! Also, if you aren't too cool with the length of the strap, you can make it longer or shorter (it's almost like a belt).

Outfit: Tossed Together Florals

July 25, 2012

Dress:  Sugarlips | Button-down: Gilly Hicks | Headband: Forever 21 | Shoes: Payless | Bracelets: gift, thrifted, Zable

I've officially fallen in love with this dress that I got gifted from Sugarlips Apparel. I saw it online and it looks like such a pretty dress, but putting it on makes it ten times more awesome. It's super summery because of it's floral print and the way it flows, but it's perfect when keeping up with trends because of the hi-low skirt (and for everyone who's been reading, I'm sure you know how obsessive I am over hi-low skirts!) If you want to purchase this dress, click here! Best part is - it's under $50!

Vera Bradley: a legacy

Hey everyone! I know I haven't posted since Saturday, but I've been super busy with graduation parties, funerals, and beautiful weather. But, alas, here I am with a super exciting post about what I did Friday night! My parents and I ventured off to Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut for a night of gambling, food, and family.

My mom and I were walking around the shopping center and we went into Bare Escentuals. I purchased a new starter kit of foundation since it comes with new brushes and bronzer. I found an eye shadow palette that I loved and I let the associate try it out on me.. needless to say I look like a zombie in this photo because of that.. Thanks lady.

But anyways, then we went into this store called "Galina". They have everything Vera Bradley and I just happened to walk in on an event that Galina has called "Christmas in July" where Vera Bradley's daughter, Joan, was in the store signing autographs and chatting with shoppers. There was also a raffle and we won a little plastic shopping bag (pictured below with Joan's signature).

I was chatting with Joan and I told her how I would be attending FIT (she said that her daughter also went to FIT!) and how I had a fashion blog. She was super impressed and told me about a Vera Bradley summer internship that I should apply for. She told me to say that I met with her and she recommended it. I can't wait for next spring to apply!

Because of the celebration, they were having a sale where you could buy a weekender bag, a cosmetic case, and a tech case (valued at about $150) for only $98! Needless to say, I couldn't pass up this opportunity and purchased the set (pictured below)!
