Our Must-Haves for Fall 2012

July 30, 2011

1. Coral Fringe Backpack: (Urban Outfitters; $59) I love this backpack because it will add color to anything you wear it with. Also, I love how it keeps up with the current trends: fringe & neon colors!

2. White Raw Edge Ruffle Blouse: (Old Navy, $27) Everyone needs a plain white blouse! This fall you can dress this up with a skirt and boots or down with jeans and flats. Very versatile and a definite staple piece in your wardrobe.

3. Tan/Creme Leaf Print Scarf: (Old Navy, $13) Love scarves in the fall. First off, they obviously keep you warm. Second, they add a cute touch to anything you wear! I love how easily they lead you into winter, also.

4. Blue/White Polka Dot Dress (H&M, $25) Gotta love a cute dress in the fall. I'd probably wear this dress with a denim jean jacket and a pair of flats. But you could also add a scarf and boots!

5. Rose Popover Hoodie: (Aerie, $40) If anything makes me love fall, it's the fact that I can wear cute hoodies all the time and be wicked comfortable and still chic at the same time. I literally buy SO many hoodies for fall because I usually end up living in them :)

6. Black Faux-Leather Riding Boots: (Old Navy, $45) I bought a pair of boots similar to these and wore them all the time. I love these with black jeans, a white blouse, and a huge, comfy scarf, with my hair in a bun. Nothing better than it, I'm telling you!

7. Dark Wash Denim Jeans: (American Eagle, $30) American Eagle jeans are probably the most comfortable jeans on this planet. I could sleep in them! I love these new jeans for fall. You obviously know what to pair with jeans because I'm sure everyone's worn jeans, so go wild with these! P.S. American Eagle redesigned all their jeans, so check out the website!

8. Blue & Pink Floral Skirt: (H&M, $25) I love love love skirts in the fall. With or without tights, they can go amazingly with a pair of boots and a v-neck or a button down and flats. Love 'em!

9. Minnetonka Brown Suede Moccasins: (American Eagle, $45) If I had to choose one thing to buy in the winter, I would ALWAYS choose these moccasins. I am IN LOVE with them. There is literally nothing more comfortable than these shoes. I love them, I love them, I love them. Seriously, just go right now.. go now! Buy a pair!

Hope you enjoyed!
P.S. I just realized that on the photo I put 2012, then I realized that it's 2011 :) Oopsie!

J.Crew's Top 5 Picks for your Fall Wardrobe

I don't have a J. Crew anywhere near me, so I rarely ever shop there. But, ever since my weekend seminar at Johnson and Wales (when we visited with J.Crew's personal shoppers) I've been checking out their online shop more and more.

J.Crew just launched a new campaign with the 5 Picks for your Fall Wardrobe & here they are!

New café capri in wool
New Cafe Capri (in wool): $118
These are J.Crew's "New Cafe Capri"! I think I'm in love. These are amazing with heels, wedges, flats, a buttown down, a graphic tank, a tee, or a cardi. You can literally wear ANYTHING with these. Love them! Comes in Black, Yacht Blue, Navy, Baked Citron (shown above), Bright Dahlia, and Camel. Love the bright colors!

Silk Elodie blouse
Silk Elodie Blouse: $110
I really fell in love with this blouse when I first saw it because it is so wearable and versatile. You can literally pair this with almost anything: a pencil skirt and heels for work, a pair of jeans and boots for a night out shopping, or a floral skirt and flats for lunch with friends. Although $110, is a bit over budget, it will be worth it because of all the use you can get out of it! It comes in faded, paradise blue, cobblestone, vintage champagne, jazzy purple, and graffiti green (showed above).

No. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge wool
No. 2 Pencil Skirt (in double-serge wool) $120
Again, love this item because of it's ease to wear. Adorable with mostly everything! Comes in Black, Acorn, Viridian Green (pictured above), Carbon, Jazzy Purple, Vibrant Flame, and Spicy Gold.

Hacking jacket in herringbone
Hacking Jacket: $198
Everyone needs the perfect jacket for winter and this could be it. I mean how comfortable and warm does this look!? Although $198, it could be an investment, but so worth it because you'll probably end up wearing it almost everyday in the winter! Comes in Charcoal, Grass, Dark Grape, Vibrant Flame (shown above), and Midnight Ocean.

Mona leather pumps
Mona Leather Pumps $198
Gotta love a nice pair of pumps for fall! These are adorable, simple, and classic. You can invest in these babies and wear them every year and they'll always be in style! Comes in Black, Pale Peacock (love this color), Warm Taupe, Dusty Clay (shown above), and Brick Red.

Color of the Moment

Basically, Orange seems to be the color of the moment. It's popping up everywhere - photoshoots, on the runway, and on celebrities everywhere! Actually, while I was at Johnson and Wales for the weekend, my fashion professor explained that in Italy and France they're a year ahead of the US and EVERYONE is wearing orange (she had just returned from a month in Italy/France.. jealous!). Here's just some of my favorite looks with the color orange!

Tasteful Trend: Graphic Tanks

July 29, 2011

One of my favorite things to wear this summer are tank tops! They're super comfortable and will almost never go out of style. There are so many choices of what you can have on your tank and that's why I believe they're so timeless. Grab a cute clutch, put on a pencil skirt and  cute pair of shoes and you've dressed your tank up. Or, You could also dress them down with some jean shorts and a pair of TOMS! I love that graphic tanks are so easy to wear. Comfortable chic is what we call it!

You can just click on the photo above to see where all the tanks are from or you can click on the individual tank under the larger photo and it will show you where to buy!

Back to the Norm

July 25, 2011

Hello, lovers! We are finally back after a long, exhausting weekend! Hope you're all exciting to hear back!

I spent this last weekend visiting Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI at their Career Explorations Program for Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management. I fell in love with the school, the dorms, the people, the food, and the overall feeling you have there! I met plenty of new friends and had a wonderful time.

On Saturday, we got to experience the life of a Fashion college student at JWU. We had a visit at J.Crew at the Providence Mall (which is HUGE) with their Fashion Stylist, Vicky. We learned a lot about the industry and how it all works. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend and I'd do it over ANYTIME.

I obviously got to check out their mall and did a bit of shopping. Here's the items that I bought!

Forever 21 Necklace $8.80

Charlotte Russe Necklace $5

American Eagle Watch Band (used as a bracelet) $3.95

Forever 21 Ring $3.80

American Eagle White Skinnies $29.95

Forever 21 Olive Green Pants $22.80

Forever 21 Indian Tank $12.80

Francesca's Collection $40
